Hospice of Eastern Maine (HOEM) is pleased to share a unique program called The Legacy Project. This free service to HOEM patients and families offers the chance to tell their story, their way. A one-of-a-kind DVD is created using pictures, music and video that families can cherish forever.
Founded by hospice volunteer Kathy Vanaria, The Legacy Project was born out of an idea to create a keepsake for families that will be used for years as a comforting and lasting testament of their loved ones. “We often think of the end-of-life as a very sad time,” explains Kathy. “And yet, as a hospice volunteer I have the privilege of seeing first-hand the many special times that take place within a family during this difficult period. With The Legacy Project, Hospice of Eastern Maine is able to help its patients and families celebrate life.”
